R. Bruce Smith

EDUCATION:
Mr. Smith attended elementary and secondary school in Sarnia, Ontario before attending the University of Western Ontario where he obtained an honours BA in history in 1982 and an LLB in 1985, and was called to the Bar in 1987.

EXPERIENCE:
He has corporate experience in organizing and updating the corporate structure of both large and small organizations and private corporations. He has had some involvement in not-for-profit organizations. Mr. Smith is also experienced in the incorporation, amalgamation and general restructuring of corporations, including estate freezes and other such similar reorganizations.

He has also had real estate experience in both the residential and commercial areas including acting for both lenders and borrowers and has been involved in significant credit facility major refinancing and loan transactions in this regard. He has been involved as corporate solicitor for the Atlas & Civic Employees" (Niagara Region) Credit Union Limited since 1987

Mr. Smith has experience in various aspects of estate planning for clients including wills, powers of attorney and various family trust agreements.

In addition, he has municipal experience in the areas of subdivision agreements, development agreements, easements and other related development documentation including acting for both municipalities and developers. He has been involved as corporate solicitor for The Corporation of the Town of Pelham since 1987
