EDUCATION:
Mr. Bielby attended A. N. Myer High School in Niagara Falls before attending the University of Guelph. He obtained an LL.B. at Osgoode Hall Law School in 1976, and was called to the Bar in 1978.
EXPERIENCE:
Mr. Bielby joined the law firm of Brooks, Macfarlane after his call to the Bar and became a partner of that firm in 1981. He remained a Partner in the firm until 2002 when it merged with the firm of Lancaster, Mix & Welch and then became a Partner of the new entity, Lancaster, Brooks & Welch.
He has extensive litigation experience and concentrates on the areas of civil litigation, family law and municipal/administrative law.
His experience includes acting on behalf of various Niagara municipalities and large corporate institutional clients. He has appeared before all levels of courts in Ontario including the Ontario Court of Appeal and has acted on large, complex litigation files. He has also appeared before the Ontario Municipal Board and other administrative tribunals.
Mr. Bielby is also a founding member of the Niagara Collaborative Law Group and has extensive training and experience in collaborative law as a way of resolving matrimonial disputes.
Mr. Bielby is also involved in residential real estate transactions.
